FAQ Kit vs Mirasvit FAQ & Knowledge Base: FAQs where the product is, or a help centre
Mirasvit FAQ & Knowledge Base is a full help centre – home page, categories, search, votes – with FAQ blocks on products, categories and CMS pages, at USD 99. FAQ Kit has no help centre; it puts the right FAQs on each product and category through a cascade, and in widgets. Here is where each fits, with Amasty, Mageplaza, Aheadworks and BSS for reference.
ComparisonMost FAQ extensions for Magento are help centres: a FAQ home page, categories, search, votes, and sometimes customer questions. Mirasvit FAQ & Knowledge Base is one of the best regarded – 5.0 from 44 reviews on its own site – and since September 2026 it also puts FAQ blocks on product, category and CMS pages, with Hyvä Theme and GraphQL in the main package. FAQ Kit is ours. It is not a help centre at all, and most of the choice follows from whether you want one.

The short answer
Choose Mirasvit FAQ & Knowledge Base if you want a knowledge base customers browse and search – a home page, categories, tags, helpful votes – and FAQ blocks on products, categories and CMS pages as well, or if you need GraphQL.
Choose FAQ Kit if your FAQs belong next to what they answer: the same sizing or care answer on every product of a kind, store-wide answers underneath, and FAQ sections placed on CMS pages as widgets – managed from the product, category and widget forms, with one valid FAQPage per page.

Where Mirasvit FAQ & Knowledge Base is the better choice
It does more of what people usually mean by "FAQ": a browsable, searchable help centre with categories, tags and votes, and FAQ blocks on products, categories and CMS pages on top of that. It has GraphQL, so a headless storefront can read it. It gives lifetime access to the source code, costs USD 99 on Open Source, and 44 reviews stand behind it.
If your customers should be able to land on a FAQ page and search it, Mirasvit is the obvious first thing to try.
Where FAQ Kit differs
It is built around where an answer belongs rather than around a help centre.
- One answer, many pages. Write the sizing FAQ once and assign it to a category; every product in it shows the answer, most specific FAQs first. Per store view you choose whether product, category and store-wide FAQs are merged or only the most specific level is shown.
- Widgets. FAQ widgets carry their own questions, layout, collapsed state and pair limit, and go on any CMS page through Insert Widget – a FAQ page is a CMS page you lay out yourself.
- One FAQPage per page. When a page holds several FAQ blocks, their questions are merged into one valid FAQPage.
- Managed where the item is. The product form lists every FAQ that applies and lets you add, quick-edit, switch off or remove the product's own; the category and widget forms open the entry form already scoped to them.
- AI when you want it. The free FAQ Kit AI Generator drafts question-and-answer candidates from the product's own content for you to review. It is a separate package; FAQ Kit is complete without it.
The cost of that focus is stated in our FAQ: no FAQ home page with categories, no search, no votes, no customer questions, no GraphQL.
The others, briefly
- Amasty FAQ and Product Questions: USD 249 the first year on Open Source, USD 155 a year after; FAQ pages with categories and tags, customer questions (guests too), voting, widgets, FAQPage, GraphQL; Hyvä through a separate package that needs an active subscription; AI as a paid add-on.
- Mageplaza FAQ: USD 149 the first year (renewal not stated); FAQ page and categories, product FAQs, customer questions, widgets, FAQ schema markup.
- Aheadworks FAQ: USD 169 a year, or USD 591.50 for five years; FAQ pages, a product FAQ tab, "Ask a Question", a keyword ChatBot; Hyvä as an add-on.
- BSS FAQs: USD 79 one time (plus USD 99 on Commerce); a FAQ main page, product tab, customer questions; last release July 2023.
All four are help centres first, like Mirasvit.
